Help Steven Overcome His Health Crisis
Donation protected
I live alone, go to school full time and work full time. Steven is my cat, he is 4 years old and I have had him since he was just a little nugget. He is a lover of all people, not just me. The sweetest cat I have ever been lucky enough to stand with me by my side. He waits for me when I get home, sits with me while I work and follows me everywhere. I have never known his presence not to be next to me. He just passed his 4th Birthday and we celebrated with chicken, movies, and cat naps of course. Suddenly, within the last week Steven fell very ill. He has never been known to have health problems. I scrambled to find a vet that would care for him properly once I noticed it has been 2 days since he made any progress with going to the bathroom. After taking a day off of work to rush him to the vet, it has been found that he was diagnosed with a disease called Mega Colon. This is where is colon is enlarged and it is not contracting to let him release any bowels. This almost became deadly for him as it nearly prevented him from urinating as well, his colon pressing on his bladder. He just finished his first round of surgery to take the toxins out of his body so he doesn't fall septic. This will continue to happen unless he gets surgery that will basically shrink the size of his colon. He is still young so there is hope he will make it from that type of surgery. Unfortunately, the surgery may cost between 4K-6K. I am trying desperately to save enough money in a small amount of time to get this done for him so he can continue being the happiest boy that he is. Any help would be appreciated. I am working extra hours at work and don't expect hand-outs, but just a little help in a desperate time. Please share if you can.
