My mom and I live together, and we both have chronic cancer. I receive SSDI and she works for the city, but our budget is stretched thin. Recently, my mom went through severe medical trouble related to her heart and had to take a month off work to recover. She’s also been struggling with severe anxiety, and I’ve been providing her 24-hour care for three months. We don’t have enough money to pay all our bills, and rent is due in two days. Her mental health has been deeply impacted by her medical needs.
