Help Steven, David & Edisson Return Home

My roommates Steven, David, and Edison have been living with me in the US for the past year, after arriving here about a year and a half ago. They came seeking asylum, followed all the legal steps, found jobs, and started building a life here. They even bought a car together, investing their savings into a down payment, and hired an attorney to guide them through the asylum process. Despite having court permission to stay, two of them were recently detained by ICE, and now all three are being forced to leave the country much sooner than expected.

We are raising funds to help cover urgent travel costs, legal fees, shipping their belongings, and supporting them with basic living expenses as they return to Colombia. They are also losing the money they put toward their car and attorney, which adds to the financial strain. Their court date is set for July 1, but they hope to leave as soon as possible to avoid further detention or complications. This sudden change has left them devastated and unprepared, as they believed—based on their attorney’s advice—that the asylum process would allow them to stay longer and plan their next steps.
