Hello, my name is Steven Laszloffy. I am a DevOps Engineer and a 10-year Air National Guard Drill Status Guardsman. My wife and I have been married for 4 years, and recently moved back to Alaska in March of last year.

My wife and I experienced the tragic loss of our apartment last night when a fire in the neighbor's apartment spread to our whole 4-plex. While insurance will cover a good portion of what was lost, the initial "repurchase" cost is ours, as well as figuring out new housing, food, and clothing, all the while still on the hunt for my next role.

We are asking our community, both local and global, for any assistance to help us get back on our feet and replace the essentials of what was lost. Mainly because insurance says we have to buy the things first, and then they reimburse, which means we can't actually replace said items.

To those that have already provided so much, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. The way you have jumped up immediately and without hesitation to help us... it means more than you know.
