We’re reaching out today to ask for your support for our beloved colleague, Steve Young. As a dedicated Porter and Operations Assistant at Strathfield Private Hospital, Steve has been a reliable, hard-working presence and a constant source of support, warmth, and positivity for many years. Back in 2023, Steve was diagnosed with Stage 2 lung cancer and underwent surgery to remove part of his lung. During that challenging time, we were able to raise over $9,000 to support him with medical and living expenses. This was an incredible reflection of the generosity and care our community has for Steve.

Since then, Steve has shown incredible resilience. He not only battled lung cancer but also bowel cancer. His strength and determination saw him return to work at Strathfield, where his energy and dedication made it hard to believe he had ever faced such challenges.

Now, Steve is preparing to undergo a major lung surgery, one that will bring significant challenges in the weeks ahead, both medically and financially. The cost of ongoing treatments, combined with time off work, has placed a heavy burden on Steve and his family. That’s why we’re reaching out once again, asking for your support. This GoFundMe has been set up to help cover medical expenses, daily living costs, and everything else that comes with navigating such a difficult road.

Steve is a huge fan of the West's Tigers NRL Team and is a proud father of two daughters. He has always been a positive influence on everyone he meets, and we want to do everything we can to support him during this difficult time.
