Hello my name is Jake Downey.

My friend of 30+ years, Steve D. Wilson, is fortunate to be alive, but in very bad shape.

He was shot six times by two of his neighbors and is currently recovering from his injuries.

Steve is a combat veteran with multiple deployments who served our nation for 5 years as an Army Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. He also served 11 years in the Air Force as a B52 Electronics Warfare Officer.

In civilian life, Steve is an accomplished guitarist who plays gigs in the Corpus Christi area. He is eager to rehabilitate his body, especially his right arm, as it’s crucial to playing his beloved guitar.

Steve has four adult children: Connor, Collin, Hannah, Olivia. They are all relieved to know he survived, and also busy with their own lives.

Steve’s rehabilitation will be extensive, time-consuming, and expensive.

For obvious reasons, he also needs to move from his current neighborhood.

If you’re wondering, Steve’s two assailants have been arrested and are awaiting their date with justice.

So, anything contributed to this fund will help this literal wounded warrior get back on his feet so he can continue to make beautiful music once again.
