With broken hearts, we share the sudden and tragic passing of Steven Mitchell Weigensberg on November 21, 2025, at the age of 53, due to workplace gun violence. His life was taken far too soon, leaving his family and community devastated.

Steve was the beloved husband of Elizabeth (Beth) Caplick Weigensberg and the devoted father of Morrison (Mo) and Macallan (Mac). His greatest joy was being a dad - cheering at games, guiding with patience, and filling his children’s lives with love and laughter. Now, Mo and Mac face the unimaginable - growing up without their father’s steady hand and boundless devotion.

Steve’s journey began in Montreal, where he was surrounded by the love of family and friends. Later, he moved to North Carolina to work alongside his father, Micheal Weigensberg, and it was there that he met Beth - the love of his life. Together, they built a life that took them to Chicago and eventually to Naperville, Illinois, where they created a home filled with love and a circle of caring friends.

Steve lived with playful spirit, generosity, and a heart that embraced everyone - family, friends, and community alike. He gave back in countless ways: volunteering as a Cub Scout Leader, teaching at Jewish school, and serving on the Huntington Estates Homeowners Association. His commitment to community was as steady as his devotion to family, and he touched lives through service, kindness, and connection. His presence brought warmth and connection, and his absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled.

This tragedy has left Beth, Mo, and Mac not only grieving but also facing the heavy burden of life without Steve’s support. Your donations will help ease immediate needs and provide stability for his children’s future - ensuring they have the care, opportunities, and security Steve worked so hard to give them.

Every gift, no matter the size, is a way to honor Steve’s memory and show his family they are not alone. Thank you for surrounding them with love during this painful time.

May Steve’s memory forever be a blessing.
