On June 16th, 2024 a storm with 70mph straight-line winds caused a large oak tree to fall on Steve's house. By the grace of God, Steve and the kids were in the right places of the home at the right time and came through the night with just minor scrapes. The house did not make out so well, with the roof demolished, numerous large limbs stabbing through the ceilings down to the floors in all but two rooms, as well as extensive destruction and water damage to the inside.

We are just so grateful that no one was hurt. It is devastating to lose the kid's childhood home and their personal belongings, but there are so many scenarios in which things could've been drastically worse. The house is insured and Steve will be able to rebuild or find a new home. There has been so much storm damage in the area recently so this will unfortunately take some time. Many have asked what they can do to help while he is navigating this process so I'm creating this fundraiser as a way to help.
