Help Steve Race Again in a Historic Caldwell D9
Donation protected
Hey guys,
I’ve been presented with a great opportunity to get back in a Formula Ford race car.
I have not driven a Formula Ford in over 35 years, and for some reason, the need to do this is mega.
I’m in the process of freshening up a 1969 Caldwell D9 FF. If I can get it freshened, I can drive and race it!
It’s the same manufacturer that Skip Barber won the first national championship in and the first all-American made Formula Ford.
When I agreed to this project, things were humming along nicely. Then the off-season came and no work; it happens in our business sometimes.
This car project and driving again is my passion, not my job.
I have stayed committed to seeing this project through; I’m highly motivated.
However, I lack any budget to finish the car and get it and myself to any outing.
Donations will be used for a physical, safety gear, entry fees, travel etc . As well as race car parts needed to complete the project such as updated fire system, gears, fluids, hardware and more. It all adds up but it’s all got to happen.
I’m asking for help to financially finish this project and see it to making its first outing asap and to the finish line at Road America by mid September. Hopefully on track sooner rather than later.
There may be some bumps along the way but my end goal is racing !
Please follow along as I update progress through pictures and video. I’ll work as diligently as possible to make this a reality.
I’m so appreciative of your time and interest in this dream.
Thanks so much
Steve
