To our Family & Friends
Things have been difficult to talk about and we are still trying to process it! In the beginning of this year, Steve has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Prostate Cancer that has spread to his bones (Back, spine, and ribs). We are very much feeling vulnerable. We do not want to claim this is even happening to our family! Even though we are not alone, it feels lonely. We still pray for a miracle! God is still good no matter the outcome! We have been trying to do things on our own, but it’s to much to bare! We need a long vacation and a piece of mind!We are trying to hold it together for the sake of our kids! We are experiencing fear, doubt, hopelessness, anger, and so much heartache. Steve and I decided it would be best to try hormone therapy rather than radiation so we can try to still work and hopefully get more time! I was supposed to write this up sooner, but I just did not have the words to say! The last thing I wanted to do is ask for help! There are so many people that need help that it feels wrong to ask for it! We are struggling not only to keep a home and to somehow catch a mental break. We are struggling physically and financially! We have medical bills that now apparently can cause wage garnishments and liens on our home! It’s very sad that the only way to get help out there is to be homeless first! We cannot afford to take time off work, but it’s crucial that we get time to make memories and to prepare for our future! We have missed a lot of work hours due to emotional break downs and doctor appointments! Trying to hold down a job and focus is very difficult! Make sure to hold your loved ones and cherish every moment! We do realize that we all have our own struggles and really want to help, but are unable! If this is you, please just pray at 8:15 pm every night with our church in the comfort of your own home! There is power in prayer! Thank you to all that have reached out and are continuously praying for us! Thank you for my friends and family that have helped us in laboring around our home and taking the initiative to help us when we didn’t know how! We are grateful and thankful for every day that we do have and the love and comfort of you.
