Help Steve make the transition back home

Hello,

We are friends and family of Steven and Brooke Ismail. On a sunny day, September 16th, 2021, Steve and Brooke set out on a 13-mile bike ride in their community. Shortly into their ride, they were both struck by a pickup truck, whose driver was blinded by the sun and stated he never saw them. As a result of the accident, Brooke broke two bones in her spine, her ankle and tibia. Steve sustained multiple life-threatening injuries as he was struck first by the pickup. Some of these injuries include breaking the bones in his neck, his left and right legs, hip, pelvis, and tailbone. Steve also sustained internal injuries and has required 28 individual surgeries to date. Additionally, Steve became septic due to his injuries, which required the amputation of his left leg below the knee.

Since their accident, Steve has already spent almost six months in the hospital, with the majority of his time in the intensive care unit. Steve is currently going to the acute rehab unit to gain strength and mobility to perform everyday functions. He has lost 75 pounds since the accident and is still not able to eat or drink on his own. Needless to say, Steve will have a long journey to recover and regain everyday functions, and his home will certainly need some modifications to assist his transition back into home life. Any financial assistance to help the Ismails would be extremely appreciated during their time of need. Steve and Brooke appreciate everyone's kindness, love, and support during this difficult time.
