"Hi everyone, I’m reaching out to ask for help for my dad, Steve.
If you know Steve, you know he is the last person who would ever ask for a handout. He has spent his entire life being 'the helper.' Whether it’s staying late to finish a job, lending a tool, or being the first person to show up when a friend is in a bind, Steve has always put everyone else’s needs before his own. He is a man who defines himself by his hard work and his ability to provide.
The past few months, however, have been a relentless uphill battle that no amount of grit could overcome.
It started with a simple cut on his foot that led to a severe blood infection, landing him in the hospital for 17 days. Shortly after being discharged, fluid buildup in his lungs required another stay. True to form, Steve tried to go back to work the very next week. He didn't want to let anyone down, and he was determined to keep his house.
Unfortunately, his body simply couldn't keep up with his spirit. He was recently rushed back to the hospital facing kidney failure and heart complications. Recently, he underwent a heart catheterization procedure.
Because Steve has been fighting these back-to-back medical crises, he is already three months behind on his mortgage. It breaks our hearts to see a man who has worked so hard his entire life facing the possibility of losing his home while he’s hooked up to hospital monitors.
Our goal is to raise enough to cover medical bills and the 3 months he is behind and provide a 3-month safety net so he can focus on his heart and kidney recovery without the constant weight of a foreclosure notice over his head.
Steve has spent his life showing up for all of us. Now, it’s our turn to show up for him. Every donation, no matter how small, goes directly to Steve’s mortgage and medical recovery. If you can’t give, please share this page and keep Steve in your prayers."
