Help Steve in his fight with Pancreatic Cancer

Donation protected
This past year has brought unexpected and overwhelming challenges for Steve and his family. After suffering multiple pancreatic attacks, Steve was hospitalized on August 30th of 2025, when doctors discovered a large mass blocking his pancreas. The mass pinched the ducts of his liver causing him to become very jaundice very quickly. Thankfully they were able to put a stint in allowing temporary passage through to figure out the extent of the mass and how they could remove it. The mass was biopsied, and on September 4th, Steve was officially diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

On September 22nd, he bravely began chemotherapy. His treatment plan will include four rounds of chemotherapy, followed by a complex 10-hour Whipple procedure at Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx. After surgery, Steve will spend time in the ICU before continuing with another four rounds of chemotherapy. The road ahead will be long and difficult, but Steve is determined to fight with everything he has.

During this time, Steve will be unable to work for minimally 6–8 months. Disability is covering only 15% of his wages, which makes it incredibly difficult to manage everyday living expenses on top of medical costs, co-pays, travel to and from the city, and supplies needed for his recovery. Wendy, his loving wife, continues to work and care for him, but the financial strain is building and they could use support to get through these trying times.

Steve has been a dedicated mechanic at Walker Valley Auto for nearly 10 years. They are incredibly grateful for the support from Al, the owner, and his wife Amy who are great friends of theirs & who have been gracious during this time and supportive as they navigate this new and difficult road.

Most importantly, he’s a loving husband, a proud father, stepfather and grandfather. His granddaughter, Adelynn, lovingly calls him “Pee-Paw” and can’t wait for him to feel better so they can go on more adventures together. His children: Adam, Courtney, and Stevie and his stepchildren: Kenny, Jamie, and Madison along side their partners as well are all by his side supporting him as he fights this battle.

They would also like to extend their gratitude to Steve’s parents: Barbara & Jay and siblings: Melissa & Ashley who have been supportive and loving through this and provide comfort as they navigate this road ahead.

Our family is asking for your support during this trying time. Any contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward helping Steve and Wendy with medical bills, travel, and household expenses so they can focus on his treatment and healing.

Your kindness, thoughts & prayers, and generosity mean the world to this family. It’s a great help to lighten their burden and give Steve the strength and hope he needs to keep fighting.

We will post updates as we get them in the next couple weeks. ❤️
