Help Steve Hertzog get An Air Ambulance to the U.S
Donation protected
Easter Sunday Steve was in a terrible surfing accident. In an attempt to avoid another surfer, Steve bailed off his board and unfortunately was hit by in the head and knocked out unconscious. Other surfers reacted quickly to rescue him but he was under the water for at least 2 minutes before retrieving him. He remained unresponsive until he reached the shore. He was then carried down the beach by some amazing friends and fellow surfers. He was then taken to the hospital via ambulance and then transferred to another hospital that was better equipped to handle his injuries. Currently he is in Intensive Care in San Isidro, Costa Rica where he is on a ventilator and heavily sedated. His lungs and kidney function have improved but he also sustained a concussion.
Our emergency insurance will not cover the air ambulance to the United States and I desperately feel it would be in Steve’s best interest to get him back to the States to receive care.
