This week, a good friend of mine, Steve Ostlund, suffered a serious accident when he fell from a roof.
While we are incredibly grateful the outcome wasn’t worse, he sustained a severe knee injury that required immediate surgery and a strict recovery period.
Steve is a lifelong resident of Park Ridge, a proud member of the Pascack Reformed Church, and self-employed at Ostlund Tree Service.
At 77 years old, he is someone who has always worked hard and is always the first to help. Now, he’s the one who needs a hand.
Due to the nature of the injury, his doctors have ordered him off his feet for at least six weeks.
Because he is unable to work during this time, he is facing the stress of mounting bills—rent, utilities, and groceries—on top of his medical expenses.
We are aiming to raise $5000.00 to cover his basic cost of living for the next month and a half. This will allow him to focus entirely on physical therapy and healing his knee without the crushing weight of financial "what-ifs." Any donation, no matter the size, goes directly toward his essential bills.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this link on your social media or with your network is just as valuable.
Leave a comment for him to read while he's stuck on the couch!
Thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and for looking out for a person who means so much to our Park Ridge community.
