Help Steve Get His Service Dog
Hi, my name is Amanda and I am fundraising for Steve Hebner.
Steve was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease on December 14, 2020. After living with systems of the disease for years prior to his diagnoses, Steve was officially diagnosed with Parkinson's after his systems progressed enough to the point that they were impending on his daily and work life. Steve is an amazing individual, hard worker, husband, and father who would do anything to provide for his family. Unfortunately, Steve has been unable to work since June 7, 2021 given the state of his health.
In Steve's words " despite an ungodly amount of medication I still have tremors, balance issues, freezing, pain, brain fog when stressed, stuttering, loss of coordination, and gait issues." Along with all of the physical effects of his diagnoses Steve also suffers with physiological aspects of his diagnoses as well. He deals with anxiety and depression caused from aspects of his Parkinson's. With all of the multiple challenges Steve faces every day both his Neurologist and his counselor have both encouraged him to get a service dog that will allow him to live a more normal life.
Steve and his family have found the perfect dog for this chapter of their lives. They have put a deposit down on a German Shepherd puppy with Morgen Haus German Shepherds and will be able to pick him up the end of September. This amazing dog will cost the Hebner family a total of $2,000. This amazing dog will then begin his training with Camp K9 in Post Falls, ID to learn how to be a Parkinson's service dog for Steve. This training is critical to allow Steve's dog to know exactly how to be a support for Steve's every need. The training will cost a total of $6,000.
Both Steve and his wife Tonya are absolutely amazing people who work very hard. They both started out as coworkers to me, and quickly became very good family friends that we consider family. If you are able to help this amazing man and his super awesome family get Steve his service dog it would be so appreciated! We are also asking for people to keep Steve, his wife, and their amazing daughter's in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate the new normal they deal with everyday.
Thank you to everyone for taking the time to read this, and for your love and compassion for such an amazing and deserving family!
