Help Steve Get a New Hip and Fight Cancer

Hello! My name is Steve. I just turned 60 and am in need of a new hip and ive been diagnosed with prostate cancer. As you can see by the photo, I have already replaced my right hip. My left hip is worn out completely and causing me excruciating pain. I have recently been diagnosed with cancer and am currently going through all the scans and testing needed to find out the extent of the cancer. I injured my hip while working on 11/13, and my employer has denied my claim because the joint had arthritis in it, so they said it was a preexisting condition and not caused by work, even though I injured it while working.

I have been able to start the process with my awesome osteosurgeon, Dr. Myerthall, to replace the hip (I highly recommend him!), but unfortunately, my employer has decided that they cannot let me work with the restrictions the doctor has put on me and my limited mobility. They have forced me to go on medical leave until this process is completed, and the insurance company will only pay 40% of my wage while I'm off work.

The minimum recovery time they want after surgery is 1 month. That is too long to go without a working wage. In the last year, I have been forced to get a new job, a new automobile, and a new place to live, so unfortunately, I have wiped out my savings to make all this happen, and then this happens.

I am a 10-year military veteran, and I just purchased my first house, and I really don't want to lose it. I finally have a place for my beautiful grandchildren to come to visit me. I normally don't ask for help, but this time I need some help. If you are able to help me out in this time of need, I would greatly appreciate it! God bless you and thank you for your support!

Update:

I have scheduled my surgery for Jan 28th. Woohoo! I can't wait! It will be so nice to get rid of this constant pain. The short term disability has started but it will only cover $317 a week. This will not be enough to cover my bills and the medical costs associated with the surgery. I am still looking at at least 2 more months off to heal and recover from the surgery. Any assistance that that you are able to provide is greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten! Thank you all for your help throughout this difficult journey!
