Help Steve Cox’s pursuit to the Paris Olympics.

Hi, my name is Steve, born and raised in Zimbabwe, went to Peterhouse School in Marondera and an international rower for Team Zimbabwe. My pursuit to the Olympic Games has seen me dedicate my life & soul to the Sport of Rowing since I was a teenager, and full time to the sport over the last eight years.

Safe to say the last 8 years have not been without their highs and lows, but despite the rollercoaster, my heart has remained on the pinnacle of Sport & that is competing for my Country Zimbabwe at the Olympic Games. Last year in October 2023 I am pleased to announce that I qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games which was literally a Dream Come True. I am now the 2nd athlete to qualify for Zimbabwe in our respective sports disciplines.

I have been so blessed & humbled by all the support over my rowing career to date & I literally couldn’t have achieved the qualification without all of your support & encouragement. I owe so much of this qualification to so many. From each one of my coaches that supported me to be competitive for the Olympic Games, to the British Army, to Rowing Association Zimbabwe, to Zimbabwe Olympic Committee, and to all my supporters. This is for you as much as it is for me!

Unfortunately Rowing for Developing Nation does have its challenges and access to funding is one of them, meaning it’s difficult to get as much race exposure and time spent on training camps vs bigger federations. As a result a lot of races & training to date has required a substantial amount of personal funds. Your donations will help me over the next 7 months to get as much training & race exposure as possible and to race the World Best Athletes. All of which will put me in a great position ahead of the Olympic Games to produce the best racing that I am capable of. Thank you so much for considering donating to this cause.

This journey has certainly showed me that anything is possible & to never give up on your Dreams. I do hope to do you all PROUD racing for Zimbabwe in the Men’s Single Scull at Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Now back to Training - #GoingForGold
