Help Steve Battle Melanoma Cancer
Donation protected
In September 2020, Stephen was diagnosed with Metastasized Melanoma after having surgery for a tumor on his leg. While melanoma is a much less common skin cancer than some other types, it is the most serious type of skin cancer because it’s much more likely to spread to other parts of the body. In Stephen’s case, the cancer did indeed spread quickly to his liver, lungs, bones, lymph nodes and prostate.
Researching various options, Stephen and his wife Lorraine found the Immunity Therapy Center in Tijuana which offers world class cancer care at more affordable prices than in the US. And what has been accomplished in the short span of five weeks is amazing. Upon arriving, Stephen’s Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) level was 130; for comparison, a normal level is below 5. After five weeks of intense treatments at the center, his PSA level was lowered to 4! Success! The CT Scan also showed that while the remaining cancer growths continue to persist, most have stopped growing and some are even shrinking.
Given these results, doctors are convinced that if Stephen gets just another three weeks of treatment, they may be able to get the cancer completely under control. With three more weeks, Stephen may be able to return home to family and friends, and allow him to continue sharing his passion for music to his community and the world.
Now -- treating cancer is costly; but successful results are worth the price. What you may not know is that health care in Mexico is some of the best in the world; unfortunately, it is just not covered by US or Canadian insurance. So far, Stephen has spent just short of $50,000 USD for his care, but the progress seen thus far tells us that it has been worth every penny.
The well is now almost empty. We, Stephen's family, are asking for your collective help to fundraise another $45,000 to help pay for this next -- and hopefully last -- stage of treatment starting on January 25th plus ongoing costs for supplements and at-home equipment, so our plea is urgent.
Please give any amount that you can. Every donation helps.
