Help Steve and Koren White

We are the family of Steve and Koren White.  We are organizing this fundraiser on behalf of them.  Steve is a Veterinarian in Omaha and Koren has been a teacher for many yrs.  They live on a farm just outside of Omaha.  Just about a year ago Steve found out he had stage 4 colon cancer, that had spread to his liver.  This happened one day after his mother passed away and 2 yrs after his father passed away.   This put a lot of financial stress on this wonderful, hardworking couple. In addition to grieving his parents, Steve had to wonder about his own mortality and thought about his 13 year old daughter and what the future would hold.

Steve has endured months of chemo and 2 major surgeries, one on his liver and the second on his colon.  Steve is a hard-worker, but has had to miss a lot of work due to recuperating from the surgeries.  They have had to pay a large amount of medical bills due to 2 deductibles having to be met in two different years in addition to co-pays, and medication, etc.  Koren has just been diagnosed with a large herniated disc in her neck and now has an appointment with a spinal surgeon. 

To top it all off, this wonderful couple lives in Nebraska, which is experiencing record setting floods right now.  Even though they are safe and dry, it has put a lot more stress on them, as they were literally cut off from school and work for many days.  This forced them to have to go many miles out of the way to find another way to get to work.

Steve and Koren did not ask for us to start this campaign, but we know they have been struggling emotionally and financially.   We thought this may be the one way we could try to help them, so at least Steve can recuperate and heal without having to worry about the finances and his family’s future so much.  We really appreciate any help you can give!
