You’d be hard-pressed to find anyone in Southern Arizona’s craft beer community who hasn’t been touched by Steve and Jessica Fogg.

For nearly 15 years, Steve and Jess have been the kind of people who make an industry - and a city- work. From brewing to distribution to big-box beverage retail, they’ve been steady, trusted, and generous with their time and talent. But what truly sets them apart isn’t just their work ethic. It’s how they show up.

They show up for family and friends.
They show up for coworkers.
And when the world shut down during the pandemic, they showed up for Tucson service workers who had been furloughed, offering food, care, and community when it was desperately needed.

As long as most of us have known them, Steve and Jess have opened their home and their table to anyone who needed a place to land or a meal to eat. They are the helpers. The givers. The people who never ask for anything, even as they quietly do everything for everyone else.

Now, they need help.

About two years ago, Jess began experiencing what seemed like minor health issues. As a manager of a high-volume liquor retail store, she did what so many working people do - she pushed through, attributing the symptoms to stress. But last spring, her body made it clear that ignoring it was no longer an option.
What followed has been devastating. Jess’s health issues escalated rapidly, forcing the abrupt end of a career she had worked years to build. In the past nine months alone, she has endured surgery, multiple procedures, countless hospital visits, and ongoing uncertainty. Yesterday, she was admitted to the hospital for the second time in two weeks. Her doctors have more questions than answers, and Jess is currently at her weakest point and physically unable to work while she waits for medical solutions.

At the same time, Steve has been stretched beyond human limits. He has used all of his available time off trying to care for Jess, their seven-year-old daughter Maddie, and his own mother, who suffered a major medical emergency in recent months.

No working-class family can prepare for this many blows at once.

Steve and Jess are entering 2026 bruised - literally and figuratively - and against the ropes. They are surviving on one income while medical bills pile up. They are still responsible for a home, pets, and a young child, but they simply don’t have the time, health, energy, or financial margin to keep up.

True to who they are, Steve and Jess resisted the idea of a fundraiser. They are far more comfortable giving than receiving. But love sometimes looks like insisting, so we are stepping in to help ease the weight they are carrying.

This fundraiser, along with a “take a meal” calendar, is one small way we can return the care they’ve given our community so freely for so long.

We know this is a precarious economic moment for many people. Any amount you are able to give will make a meaningful difference. And if you’re unable to donate, please know that your thoughts, prayers, and good vibes are deeply appreciated as well.

Steve and Jess have always shown up for us.
Now it’s our turn to show up for them.
