On March 17th, 2021, Steve was misdiagnosed with Pleural Mesothelioma, starting this journey. Thanks to fate changing the course of his treatment, Steve was able to get a second opinion at MD Anderson, in Houston. Through amazing doctors at MDA, Steve found out he actually has Sarcoma, another rare cancer, BUT ONE WITH TREATMENT AND A POSSIBLE CURE!

Steve will be receiving treatment from MD Anderson,  which will involve considerable travel costs, as his treatment will take FOUR months! He and Amanda will have to rent an apartment or find an affordable hotel down there for that time, when he will receive his chemotherapy. Thankfully, their insurance is considered in-network, but there will still be large medical expenses, so we are also looking at those long term costs.

MD Anderson is considered the best cancer hospital in America, and from their website:
