Help Sterling (& Tip!) Move Out
Donation protected
ETA: The move has been completed! I have stable housing now and am once again able to look for a job, in fact, I actually have an interview with a placement agency on Tuesday the 7th, but there’s no guarantee of a job from that (though I’m staying hopeful)
BUT, apparently I miscalculated somewhere, or maybe groceries just ended up being more expensive than I thought they would be, and I have about $200 to get me through the rest of the month AND through December, not counting rent (which is already set aside, thank heck)
So if you all have it in you for any last spare change, or even any last spreading of the word, I would appreciate it greatly.
Hi all, My name's Sterling and this story starts back in January when I was unexpectedly laid off from a job I loved and thought I was in for the long haul.
Fast forward to today - not much happened between those two points, aside from picking up a foster cat (Tip!) who I'm pretty sure is now just my cat as she's had some bad luck on the adoption front, and the the continuing job search-slash-just throwing my resume at anyone who will listen (only to be ghosted repeatedly when I even get a response at all) - when this morning I was unexpectedly given 60 days to move out of the residence I've been living in for the past eight years. As I'm sure you can all understand this is quite a blow, given the situation I'm already in.
Which is where you all come in (I hope!)
The breakdown of funds I'm requesting will cover:
$700 est. 1st mo room rent (estimation based on recent search of my area)
$300 est. 1st mo storage unit rent (estimation based on current rates of smaller unit)
$600 est. replacement of essentials (pots/pans/dishes/shelves etc.)
$300 est. packing supplies (Boxes/tape/bubble wrap etc.)
$300 est. lunch & gas money for laborers (all kinds of fuel for the folks helping me pack up and transport)
Everything above that is to cover fees and give me every possible inch of wiggle room I can get while I continue to try and find a job once I'm settled into a new place (provided I can actually find one while still being unemployed, people are understandably iffy about that)
Thank you all in advance for your help, kindness is not soon forgotten.
