Hello, and thank you. I am Eric Clevenger. Stephen Graham has been my friend for over 25 years, and we need your help.

Problem: My friend will be without a residence or support shortly. I am a married father of two and have no way to sustain him in his present location.

Goal: To relocate Stephen to a small apartment near my family so that I can assist properly.

I am looking for help to relocate Stephen from Alabama to the suburbs of Chicago in Illinois. For over three years, Stephen has been fighting against the system trying to obtain his rightful disability benefits with little luck.

Stephen has battled cancer, is struggling with diabetes, and suffers from chronic mental illness (depression). These conditions are worsened by the lack of funds, quality, and reliable access to health care. Being LGBTQ in a predominantly unaccepting community has limited his resources, meaning that many "helping hands" are turned away from him because of their religious affiliations.

He is also very alone. His mother and father passed years ago, and the remainder of his family has disowned him. The vast majority of people within his town are harmful to his well-being.

This toxic environment has been slowly destroying my friend.

Recently, an emergency crisis has made things worse. Stephen's only local supporter has been detained by law enforcement. While this trial and investigation continue, Stephen will be without ANY assistance and his place of residence will be lost soon.

Unfortunately, I do not have room in my home for another resident. Therefore, I'm looking to move Stephen into an apartment near my family so that we can rebuild his life in an LGBTQ-friendly environment, without toxic people doing harm to his mental stability and sapping his final dignities.

My goal is to raise enough funds to support the transport of Stephen and his few remaining possessions, and set up a six-month lease for an apartment here. With that time, we will have access to the resources needed to overcome his disability troubles and give him better access to health care.

Any funds that are raised beyond the needs to cover this move will be donated to LGBTQ-supportive charities to assist others in similar crises.
