Stephen, my brother, has faced a series of unexpected and difficult medical challenges over the past few months. In October, he underwent cataract surgery on both eyes. While the procedure went smoothly for his left eye, his right eye required two surgeries, and unfortunately, the implant did not attach as expected. In January, things took a turn for the worse when his retina detached. Since then, Stephen has endured multiple gas bubble and laser treatments to try to save his vision in that at risk eye.
Recently, another tear began to develop in his right eye, leading to further surgery and the placement of an oil bubble at UT Tyler Health. On Sunday, February 22, Stephen experienced an extreme headache and made two trips to the Longview Regional Emergency Center, where his eye pressure was found to be dangerously high. He returned to Tyler for another emergency surgery to remove the leaking oil bubble. Now, he faces a follow-up surgery for the implant in that eye.
The financial burden has been overwhelming for Stephen and his wife, Stephanie. Donations will help cover his deductible and medical bills and assist with the costs from missing work during this challenging time. We are deeply grateful for any support you can offer—your kindness means so much to our family as we help Stephen through this difficult journey.
