Help Stephen rebuild winter production greenhouse
Donation protected
Hello friends!
Stephen, with the help of his wife Anna Mae, manages the daily operations at Rising Moon Acres along with the 'help' of their four children who love to learn new things around the farm. One of the highlights during the winter months is the wood-fired greenhouse where the plants grow rapidly and the children spend hours playing on cold or rainy days; truly a haven of warmth and vibrant growth with all the scents of warm, moist soil. Inside you can expect to find everything from tomatoes ripening on the vine to succulent celery plants to beds of tender lettuce and spicy mustard mix for delicious salads.
Unfortunately, the freezing rain followed by snow on February 3, 2022 proved to be just too much for the greenhouse structure and it collapsed, exposing everything to the harsh cold. The structure will need to be replaced completely which will cost approximately $12,000 in materials alone. Besides this, the heating system is also damaged/broken and will need to be repaired as well. We hope to rebuild in time for winter production this year. We are grateful for all the support from every one of you who purchase our food or donate here!
Thank You from each of us at Rising Moon Acres
