My name is Stephen Caracciolo, and I never thought I would have to ask for help like this.
Two years ago, I was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine Cancer. Since then, I’ve been in ongoing treatment at Dana-Farber in Boston, including surgery where doctors had to remove 27 cm of my small intestine due to a tumor.
The cancer has since spread to the lymph nodes in my abdomen, and peritoneal cavity. As of now, there is no cure.
Before this, I was also diagnosed with Follicular Lymphoma, which thankfully is stable—but it’s still something I continue to live with on top of everything else.
I have officially retired now and looking for remote work because I can't work in a job that doesn't allow me to use the restroom when I have to. My treatment causes digestive issues and I need to be able to use the restroom pretty frequently.
And the reality I’m facing right now is something I never imagined:
I am at risk of losing my home because I can no longer keep up with my mortgage.
I’ve spent the last 25 years raising my two daughters on my own after my divorce. Providing for them has always been my purpose, and asking for help now is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do.
But I can’t do this alone anymore.
Every dollar raised will go directly toward catching up on my mortgage payments so I can stay in my home while continuing treatment.
If you’re able to help—even a small amount—it would mean more than I can put into words.
And if you can’t donate, simply sharing this would help more than you know.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
