We are asking for donations and help with expenses of bandages, gauzes, cream, medication, and gas.

10 days ago, my 15-year-old little brother, Stephen, was working on his weed eater. He got gas all over himself, and there was a spark. The next thing we knew, he was being rushed to the emergency room. He spent four hellacious days in Syracuse at the hospital, where they didn't change his bandages properly. His room was filthy, his bed sheets were disgusting and hadn't been changed.

Then it came time for discharge. I was told, "We'll show you how to change his bandages and give you everything you need to do it with." I literally got one roll of gauzes; no one showed us anything. I was told prescriptions would be called in; they were not called in, and what was called in was not nearly enough supplies. It's costing $70 a day for gauzes, bandages, ointment. This isn't including gas we had to spend to go back and fourth to Syracuse and to travel outside of town because our town doesn’t have the ointment and all the supplies we need.

Stephen is in terrible shape. He has 2nd and 3rd degree burns on his ear, shoulder, stomach, and from his waist to his kneecaps and everywhere in between—all It’s costing about $70 a day to dress all of his burns again with no help from the insurance company. This is literally killing us. The doctor says there is no sign of infection and he is healing but it's going to be several weeks of healing still. My step mom is doing all of the wound care for him.
