Help KEEP KAT"S KITCHEN ALIVE!!!!

Donación protegida
Hello, my name is Stephanie McMahon and I’m the daughter of Katherine Rogers. A kick ass single working mother that has always busted her tail from the beginning of time to provide for my sister and I. Always making sure that we both had everything we ever needed and then some. As a young woman, she developed a passion for people, working at a restaurant called Tubby's Diner, where she was for 25 years(a story for another time). Always putting others first and herself last. Hence, why I’m trying to do this fundraiser for her because she would never do it for herself. I’m creating this GoFundMe page for my mother essentially, but the more that I think about it, the more I realize its actually quite honestly not just for my mother and her restaurant but for myself and for our loyal staff/team/family and last but not least, for the community, from the locals to the people that have just simply supported us and her business through thick and thin. WE need your help to make my mother’s dream come true and keep KATS KITCHEN & COMPANY Alive!!!

Her long lived dream has been dangled in front of her face and ripped from underneath of her in a blink of an eye. Her restaurant opened December 12th for the soft opening last year, and boy has time flew despite all the struggles we have endured. As much as it hurts my pride to have to ask for help, desperate times call for desperate needs, and I am willing to put my pride aside for her, she is worth it, and she deserves this more than anybody I know. She has invested everything that she possibly could to get this restaurant and has basically not been given a fighting chance... It’s quite a long story, which I can get into detail more through future posts. She invested all of her time, energy and every dollar she could, also tried getting loans from every which way you can imagine, and just has not been given that strand of luck yet. She has even looked for investors and/or silent or non silent partners(although that is not quite preferred)once again no luck yet! If it wasn’t for paying rent for 10 months without the restaurant actually being open and zero income, she would’ve never been in this situation to begin with. From waiting for the liquor license, permits for renovations, the renovations themselves, etc., all these things made the opening date way later than anticipated. And definitely put a damper on her pockets.

One of the last and final things that did us in, was when we had issues during the very hottest weeks of the summer with the AC. You would think the landlord would be reliable for that, especially because we are renting and don’t actually own the property. Kind of like when you rent a room or a house, the landlord is typically responsible for that kind of major maintenance. So it’s hard for me to understand why this is not the case . Any who not being able to actually afford a new AC unit that is compatible with the building, we just filled the unit up with Freon for a temporary fix, so that our customers would be comfortable at the time being and so we could remain open. Not realizing we were actually getting screwed, that chunk of money for that freon was gone in about a week. And we tried everything in our power to come up with the money to get the new AC unit and it just did not end up happening. There were many other previous unfortunate events that we had no control over, that ultimately made it to where we could not pay our electric bill. As they say when it rains it pours. In conclusion, we got our electricity cut off about two weeks ago from today… my mother being extremely overwhelmed with everything going on and also not receiving a notice from the electric company(someone must have received the mail and did not distribute it to her), this issue was overlooked. Finally in result we obviously had to close the restaurant, having to transport all that food and give it away, otherwise it would have just went to waste. But we have not opened back up yet. It’s just been a struggle since the very beginning. But we have no way of predicting the future. Life is not going to stop lifing because things are rough. Now Looking back, there are quite a bit of things we could have done differently. But what can i say, you live and you learn. More details i can elaborate on in future updates/posts.

I believe the worst has passed because we have been through the ringer and boy was that a ride. We have most definitely learned quite a lot through trial and error along the way, especially in such short time(less than 9 months). Honestly don't know how we made it that long considering all the wrenches thrown in the mix. But we know exactly what needs to be done now to make this place thrive, this is a local spot, with nothing of its kind in sight. There's no reason why this place should fail. Its great food, great drinks, great prices, and to top it off great vibes and company. But to put the cherry on top, we have a lot of big plans on doing fundraisers for local charities, charities events, and donations of our own for local churches, schools, and sports teams!!!! We just want to be a big part of the community, so much to learn because we are not from the area. If anybody has any suggestions, tips or ideas feel free to share that as well. This place has endless potential, we just need that fighting chance. There’s a reason why her employees(me being one) and our regular customers have not given up on us, because they know the potential this place truly has. I have faith in my heart, that things are going to turn around and people are going to be willing to help, this is a place that the community needs, that mom and pops spot. That spot that all the local school teams come to, to celebrate the friday game with some amazing pizza! Its that place that people go and feel as if they are at home with family, the local cheers if you will. Due to all that we have learned in such a little time, investing in us will not be a regret .

To wrap things up, we will appreciate anything more than words can explain(even if its .25 cents). and your good deed(s) will not go unseen. If you are not able to donate, just sharing and spreading the word/link with others and/or a simple prayer(as many as possible) is just as appreciated. Everybody has a story, and i barely began to explain ours. I will be posting and updating every day, maybe more than once, and also adding details to fill in the blanks of my mother’s story that I did not initially cover. There is just so much to say and not enough time! GOD BLESS EVERYONE , definitely feel free to ask questions or to contact us for any concerns or just to spread some love.

Sincerely, Yours
#TeamKat
