Help Carmen Battle Alzheimer's
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Stephanie, and I am trying to raise money to cover my mom, Carmen’s, medical expenses. She had a stroke in 2023, at the age of 63, which caused some brain damage and eventually led to early onset dementia. She has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and is currently living in a private nursing home in Dorado, Puerto Rico.
It has been very difficult to see my mom’s health decline so quickly over the last few years. She started off being forgetful and getting easily agitated. Progressively things began to get worse. She started losing things and was no longer able to control her bowel movements. After that, she lost her ability to walk and is now in a wheelchair. Many hospitalizations later, doctors informed us she was unable to live independently. This is why my family placed her in a nursing home, which her insurance does not cover.
In order to alleviate some of the financial stress my family is experiencing, I am reaching out to the community for help. If you knew her, you know she would do anything for the people she loved. It breaks my heart to see my mom this way and being so far away from her. Your donations would help us cover up to a year's cost of the nursing home, health insurance deductibles, medical supplies (wipes, incontinence diapers, etc), and any other personal hygiene supplies she may need. My family and I thank you in advance for your generosity. May God bless you all.
