Help Stephanie with her fight against cancer

I don’t want to write the words: my very good friend and coworker has cancer. I want to wake up and it all be a bad dream. One week ago, Stephanie found out she has an aggressive form of breast cancer, already stage 2. This is something no one wants to hear, especially someone that is only 28.
Stephanie has such a kind and sensitive heart, not only with her friends and family, but with the people she takes care of. She is always worried about other’s needs before her own. I can say at least twice a week I have to remind her to take a lunch break, and I only work with her twice a week. At the same time, she is such a fighter! We always joke that we are the only ones that can take each other’s spunk. I’m so thankful to have someone like her to share that with, and to be by my side when I need her.
When I asked our coworkers to describe Stephanie in a sentence, they all stayed pretty close in theme. One describes her as a kind soul with a heart of gold. Another said she cares more about others than herself. Some other words used to describe her were smart, funny, beautiful, a rock to lean on, and one of the most caring and compassionate nurses I know.
I created this Gofundme to take some of the stress away from Stephanie during this hard time. She will be undergoing treatments with the cancer center and surgeries and will be needing to take time off work. Stephanie would never ask for help, and I don’t want her to have to.
I want to finish this up by sharing a quote from a song. “If your wings are broken, borrow mine so yours can open too. I’m gonna stand by you.” I know Stephanie has an amazing group of people by her side to fight this. Sometimes we all need a little help.
