Friends, I’m writing to ask for help. My children and I have endured many years of mental and emotional abuse, raging anger, control and isolation. Last week the father of my children attacked me in my sleep, and was arrested for domestic violence. The judge granted a protection order, and the hearing is next week. My children and I fled the house without any resources, and are waiting in vain for a domestic-violence shelter to come available. In the meantime, I have been staying at a hotel in Tacoma, although, long-term I am looking to find a permanent home in either Tacoma, OR Seattle/ West Seattle (*somewhere close to Metropolitan Market- my employer). I am asking for help with any resources or advice you might be able to offer. Or if you have a place where we can stay temporarily.
