Hi , My name is Jalaya Solomon. My dad and I are raising funds for my mom and his wife , Stephanie Solomon. In 2014 , my mom was diagnosed with a rare disease in the Bahamas called Renal (Kidney) Amyloidosis. Amyloid deposits were detected in her kidney , causing her kidney to not function correctly. There was swelling of her feet and ankles and puffiness around her eyes which are signs of kidney failure. She received high-dose chemotherapy to try treat this disease . Unfortunately, my mom could not withstand this treatment and started to hallucinate. At this point, her only option was to be put on dialysis. She began dialysis on June 2nd 2014. She attends treatment three times a week at 4am. The treatments can only work for so long which is why she is now looking to have a kidney transplant in Miami, Florida. It is very tiring on my mom’s mental health. My mom tells me every day that the only reason she keeps pushing is because of me , her only child (daughter) . Please help me to help my mom. This transplant is VERY important and time sensitive to my family due to the average life expectancy of a dialysis patient being 5-10 years . Thank you in advance for helping save my mom’s life.
