Help Stephanie Say Goodbye to Daun Kathleen

My sister-in law Stephanie has suffered the devastating loss of her mother, Daun Kathleen Slagle. Daun had a beautiful heart but lived a very hard life. She was the sole survivor of the serial killer known as the Happy Face Killer, she struggled with mental health issues, and addiction consumed her life most of the time. However, within these dark days there were rays of sunlight too. Daun was a single mother of three who put herself through college and graduated as a licensed registered nurse, she was hardworking and strived to maintain and build relationships with her grandchildren.

Daun was currently living in the pallet shelter here in Chico where her body was found. Being the child of an addict is not easy. Being a child of an addict who breaks the cycle is even harder. Stephanie did break that cycle and she needs our help now.

Stephanie was not able to say goodbye and is struggling with closure. The funeral home will not even let her see her mom's body unless she pays 250 dollars. The cost to cremate is over 5,000 dollars. Stephanie needs our help to say goodbye to her mom and respectfully put her to rest.
