Help Stephanie Save All the Animals

Something has been on my mind for months, and I can’t help but sit around all day, every day thinking and planning what my life could be. For the past three years I have been fostering animals and volunteering at Best Friends Lifesaving Center here in LA. During this time I have had the privilege of saving the lives of some absolutely delightful animals: 6 puppies, 2 adult cats, and 19 neonatal orphaned kittens. I have also been able to attend multiple events, classes, and RescueCon that have contributed to my knowledge of animal welfare in the United States. 

I have decided that I can no longer sit around waiting and wasting my life away. I need to make some big changes in order to create the life of my dreams. It’s easy to make excuses and to settle for the life you’re in, and that is what I have been doing for the last year. But not this year. This year I am making moves. Starting with.... moving. I’ve talked to many of you about relocating, but now I am announcing it officially. Poppy and I will be leaving LA on June 24th to drive across the country and relocate to Florida. 

But before we go, I want to do one more thing on this end of the country. Best Friends Animal Society has a huge Sanctuary in Utah full of rescued cats, dogs, small pets, pigs, horses, and other wild animals too! Three times a year they host a week long workshop about how to start and run an animal rescue. See where this is going? 

I’ve basically been operating an animal rescue from my own bedroom in my La apartment, and I want to take this journey to the next level to save more lives. I believe that I absolutely have the passion and the knowledge to rescue animals, but turning it into a small business and a non-profit has a few obstacles that I have minimal experience in. That’s why this workshop is the best stepping stone for me! They go over every detail I am missing: from grant writing, engaging volunteers, gathering donations, building maintenance and zoning, how to file 501(c)3 legal documents, and in depth animal care training. This training is everything I need to make my dream a reality, handed to me on a silver platter, just 6 hours away! 

My only dilemma is funding... while I plan to move across the country I need every penny I have to travel and find a new place, and even that is all very tight right now, but I don’t want to pass up this opportunity...

This only happens 3 times a year, and what are the chances that they have a workshop the week before I planned my move! June 16th-22! And when I get to Florida in July I can put all my new knowledge to good use. 

I know I can do this, I just need a little extra support from all of you. I absolutely have the passion and the will to take this idea and turn it into a reality. I have been so blessed by the out pour of support through out my rescue journey, and it would mean the world to me if you were willing to invest in me and my dream to save as many lives as I can.
