My best friend, Stephanie Newport, and her incredible family (partner Ryan, 3 kids and 2 dogs) need our immediate help. The Eaton Fire took out all but a few homes in their entire neighborhood in Altadena but somehow her home and her next door neighbors’ home are still standing, despite every other house on their road being completely destroyed. Stephanie’s home was on fire and suffered extensive damage both inside and outside. They evacuated with only a few minutes’ notice on Tuesday night and are currently in a hotel and need to find a place to live close to her kids’ schools. They have no idea when they can return to their home to assess the damage to begin the process of doing whatever needs to be done to fix the damage from the fire and smoke and be able to move back. It will likely be months, if not longer since the entire area around them is gone and they have no utilities.

 

If you know Stephanie, you know she would do anything for anyone. Now it’s time for us to return the favor. These funds would be used to help her stay afloat and cover expenses to repair their home that aren’t covered by insurance, and provide some immediate assistance while they navigate this rough road ahead. Stephanie is beyond grateful that they still have a home, despite its current condition, but her heart aches so much for all of her friends and community who have lost everything. Any funds that end up not being needed will be donated to assist others in the Altadena community.
