Let’s Help Stephanie LeMarr fight cancer, round 3

Donation protected

2020 was a rough year for all of us, but for some it was life changing. As you may have heard, Stephanie LeMarr and her Family received unexpected and devastating news.

In September Stephanie was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in her tailbone.

Stephanie’s first battle with cancer was in 2016 when she was diagnosed with stage 3 Colorectal cancer. It was a shock, but she was determined to fight. Stephanie underwent months of Chemotherapy, Radiation, and multiple surgeries. After a year of treatments it appeared Stephanie had beat the Cancer.

In May of 2020 Stephanie started experiencing unexplained pain in her tailbone, numbness, unexplained bladder retention and minimal sensation in her legs. Doctor visit after doctor visit, she was left with no answers and little to no relief from her symptoms. She didn’t stop. She finally found a doctor in Reston that wanted answers as much as she did. After an MRI of her tailbone, and a bone biopsy it was discovered the spot that had been seen in CT scans was not scar tissue from the colon cancer radiation, it was a spot where the cancer had returned and metastasized to her bone. Stephanie is currently undergoing Chemotherapy and is 4 months into treatment. The Cancer does not seem to be shrinking but it does not look to have grown at this point. Stephanie was told that surgery was an unlikely option due to the location of the cancer so Chemotherapy and Radiation therapy will be the most likely options for treatment.

As you can imagine, the news turned
Stephanie’s world upside down. While she was relieved to finally have answers, the diagnosis has been hard to swallow. Stephanie is a mother of two beautiful children, Cooper (8) and Layla (7), she is a daughter, a sister, a partner and an amazing friend who lights up any room she enters.  Steph is one of the strongest, determined, and energetic women you will ever meet.

We know her strength and faith will carry her through this. The financial burden of fighting cancer is a lot to take on. With her current rigorous chemotherapy schedule, she is unable to work and relies on disability. We want Stephanie to focus on her journey and the fight at hand, not the financial part. Chemo is just the first step. The road ahead is long, and there are treatments and appointments that will not be covered by insurance. You may be like many of us that want to help and just do not know what to do outside of prayers, love, and support, so we have setup this GoFundMe as a way to help Stephanie and help ease some of her worries.

Thanks for your time, prayers, and support in helping us to help Stephanie ❤️
