Hello everyone, I am reaching out to you on behalf of my mom, Stephanie Kanan, who recently lost her business of 17 years, Oasis Palisades, in the Palisades Fire. If you knew my mom, you would know that she loves what she does and absolutely loved her beautiful office. She worked extremely hard, seeing clients six days a week, leaving only Saturdays to help take care of her two youngest granddaughters and do pop-up events at her home with my brother and his wife. My mom lost all of her healing stone jewelry and crystals in the fire.

My mom is always learning about new treatments to help her clients. Recently, she invested quite a bit of money in training and diagnostic equipment with Tomii Healing to better help her clients. Unfortunately, that computer was lost in the fire, along with everything she used for her and her other therapists to see clients for massage and facials.

When the fire started, my mom was in Torrance taking her mom on her weekly errands (grocery shopping and paying bills). When she left her mom's house, she was headed straight to the office, but they had already closed PCH. She turned around and ended up going home because she was nervous about leaving her dog alone and with all the sirens, she wanted to make sure he was okay.

We are currently evacuated from our home, but we are grateful that it is still standing. Almost all of her clients have lost their homes or businesses, so she doesn't want us to do this, but we know that there are many people outside of the Palisades who love my mom and will want to help her recoup her losses.

As soon as we get back home, she will start working again. In the meantime, she is already thinking about her other therapists and has secured a place for them to start seeing clients. Her personal liability insurance, which she thought covered property damage, actually stopped covering it as of January 1, 2024, when we called to inquire.

The funds from this campaign will be used to replace her computer and inventory in her office that were lost.
