Help Stephanie Blackbird Beat Stage 3C Ovarian Cancer.

My name is Matthew Brown, and I’m reaching out with a heavy yet hopeful heart to ask for your support for my incredible mom, Stephanie Blackbird—the brightest light in my life. She has always put others first, giving her heart to anyone in need.
My mom taught me compassion, kindness, and what it means to be a truly good person. In October 2024 (the month of my mom’s 65th birthday), our family was devastated to hear the C word! She was unexpectedly diagnosed with an aggressive form of ovarian cancer - Stage 3C —high-grade serous carcinoma. We need your help to give her every possible chance to live!
A Brave Battle Against Aggressive Cancer
Mom underwent a radical hysterectomy to remove the large tumors on her ovaries, along with an omentectomy to remove the spread in her abdominal lining. Although the surgery was successful in removing all the visible cancer, this type of cancer is known for its high risk of recurrence—with estimates as high as 80-90% in cases like hers—making every day of recovery critical.
She has spent the 3 months post-surgery focused on her recovery and getting as healthy as possible, and as strong as possible, to face this.
A Holistic Approach to Healing
My mom’s lifelong commitment to holistic living has been the cornerstone of her strength. Alongside her conventional treatments, she is embracing a range of holistic therapies that support her physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. She’s working tirelessly—eating a specialized organic diet, going to the gym, and playing pickleball—to stay as healthy as possible.
The treatments she needs include:
• Naturopathic Doctor specializing in Oncology
• High Dose Supplement Infusions
• Lymphatic Drainage Massages
• Hyperbaric Chamber Treatments
• Mistletoe Injection Therapy
• Scalar Therapy
• Monthly High-Quality Supplements
In addition, she has incurred out-of-pocket expenses for special bloodwork that her oncologist can’t order because it isn’t covered by insurance. She had to put her business aside to focus entirely on her healing journey.
The Financial Challenge
With all these treatments and specialized testing, the financial burden is overwhelming. We have set an initial fundraising goal of $45,000 to help cover these vital expenses. Every donation, no matter the size, will directly support:
• Holistic Healing Treatments: Covering naturopathic consultations, supplement infusions, lymphatic massages, hyperbaric treatments, mistletoe injections, scalar therapy, and essential monthly supplements.
• Specialized Bloodwork: Critical tests that aren’t covered by insurance.
• Additional Expenses: Potential follow-up imaging, extra testing, travel and lodging for specialized treatments, nutritional counseling, mental health support, and a contingency fund for unexpected costs.
Why Your Support Matters
My mom is not just a fighter—she’s a beacon of hope in our family and our community. Her granddaughter, Harper, is the light of her life, and we dream of Harper growing up with her loving grandmother by her side for many years to come.
Her husband Al would be devastated to lose the love of his life, and he has been by her side taking such good care of her. He is retired and thankfully can be there to help care for my mom through this journey.
If anyone is deserving of our help, it’s my mom. She has given so much to others throughout her life, and now she needs our collective support to keep her shining.
How You Can Help
Please consider donating whatever amount you can manage. Your support—no matter how small—will make a real difference in my mom’s journey to beat this aggressive cancer. Every donation helps.
If you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser with your network would mean the world to us. Your kindness, generosity, and support give us hope and strength during this critical time.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being a part of my mom’s journey. Together, we can help ensure that Stephanie Blackbird continues to be the radiant, loving force in our lives for many years to come.
