Help Stephanie and Nate Rebuild After Los Angeles Fires
Donation protected
To know Stephanie and Nate is to know their hearts, their energy, their work ethic. They are navigating a unique, labor intensive and truly devastating loss from these Los Angeles fires and it is something I know so many of us want to help in any way we can.
In their true midwestern form, it took a bit of arm twisting, but this Go Fund Me is on behalf of a beautiful couple that has been able to recover some, but still lost most.
When I asked Stephanie for their story she shared.
“On January 7th, we were eating dinner, and I looked out the window to close the curtains. I saw the mountains spewing flames and fire across the street. Within minutes, we were driving away. We did not receive any text alert yet, because that’s just how fast the fire moved. We grabbed our passports, glasses/contacts, and what we could see around us. All of our neighbors were running and evacuating.
After a week, we came home to find our items deeply contaminated, damaged or gone altogether. We have lost so much and as we go through the careful & laborious process of trying to salvage we aren't sure what is still going to be saved and what will still be lost. To keep ourselves safe, we have made the heartbreaking choice to break our lease and start over.
We have been living with different groups of gracious friends since January 7th. We just got into some temporary housing, by the end of March we hope to be in a more permanent apartment/lease.
While very grateful for our renters insurance, our claim was limited based off the size of our space and our contracts details. The reality of trying to rebuild has been daunting and the amount of work we have to do to get on our feet again seems truly overwhelming. “
Thank you for considering your support for this beautiful couple. We can’t wait to see them making magic once again, and while they work, maybe we can help create some magic for them too.
