Help Steph with medical procedures
On May 5th 2021 Steph was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma in her left breast. Last week the oncologist basically told her that the placement of the tumor was a direct shot straight into her heart. (During radiation) they would need to have her take a deep breath in the hopes that it would change the distance of the ray to minimize the risk of damage. And a side effect of the cancer treatment is cancer.
Steph also has a diagnosis called endometriosis. It has been controlled with an IUD most of her adult life, but now, because this tumor responds to the hormones, she had to have it removed. That way it won’t interfere with the hormone therapy, which she does still plan to do. If she has problems they are suggesting a hysterectomy. But that would leave her immune system vulnerable while it's busy trying to heal from that surgery.
In Steph's case the cost of radiation far outweighs the benefits. So she has made the decision to refuse radiation. This has been a VERY hard decision. But she has found a clinic that uses alternative treatments. They work to find the reason this tumor started growing in the first place and then try to fix it. Of course the cost is insane and is not covered by insurance. Let's help her so that, as she says, she doesn't have to go bankrupt just to try to save her own life.
