Skater Down, But Not Out- Crash and Recovery Fund

Donation protected
Alright, here we go. I’ve run the numbers, stretched every resource I’ve got, and doing some very humbling math now I’m asking for a little help.

In mid-June, I took a solid slam at the Venice Skatepark before my bartending shift and broke my elbow in two places. Big thanks to the lifeguards and locals who got me to the ER asap. Surgery followed shortly after—and now I’m the proud owner of a metal plate and four screws.

After many conversations it seems like this recovery is gunna be no joke. I’m not the best at slowing down, but I’m being told I have to. Doctor’s orders: at least 6 weeks off work, with a 3-month timeline for full healing. I’ve picked up a few café shifts thanks to some legends at Saba Surf (so insanely grateful fam ) but unfortunately it wont come close to covering rent.

So here’s what I’m raising funds for:

$5800 to help cover two months of essentials while I recover without fighting shakti (my dog) for chicken bones

Here’s the breakdown:
• $2,000/month for rent (because this is Venice, not the prairie)
• $400/month for Shakti’s food + extra help with walks (she’s got standards, okay?)
• $400/month for groceries + basic living (it’s the PB&J life for me and I’ve never downloaded postmates)

($4000 for rent/ basic utilities is primary goal )

You guys know I keep it pretty low-key and I like it that way- I make most things from scratch, keep it light, spend most of my time outside, and prioritize community over stuff. My dad (legend) is helping with PT, and my mom (sweet angel) has been helping with some additional extra expenses from back home in NY but otherwise, I’m solo out here and doing my best and I’ve hit a point where I need support to make it through this next stretch without burning out.

If we’ve crossed paths—maybe I made you a cocktail, pulled you a coffee, shared a laugh, a skate sesh, a joint, a weirdly deep convo on the beach or spontaneous adventure-thank you. I’m super grateful for this wild little community.

As a thank-you, I’ll be mailing out stickers of my original art to anyone who donates. Because I’m broke but creative. And honestly, it feels good to be able to offer something back—even if it’s tiny and covered in hand-drawn weirdness.

If you can donate—or even just share this—it all goes such a long way - you’re helping me stay housed, heal up properly, and get back to doing what I do best: moving, smiling, working, showing up for others, and cracking one-liners at inappropriate times.

Thanks for reading. Thanks for being here. And seriously—thank you for helping me get back to doing all the things I love so deeply and being able to share it all with you.
