Help Steph & Adam Fill Their Onesie (IVF Journey)
Donation protected
Stephanie and Adam have been married for going on 20 years. During this time, they have shared everything life has to offer - except one thing - being parents. After many attempts to conceive on their own, and with guidance from medical professionals, faced the cold reality they would never be able to have a child of their own. As time passed by, Stephanie and Adam searched for alternative options to become parents. As much as they hated the fact that money would need to be a deciding factor, they avoided more expensive routes such as standard adoption, and instead chose embryo donation. This procedure is still extremely costly and not covered by insurance.
Early in their marriage, Stephanie and Adam both worked for a local crisis nursery where they tended children ages 2 months to 5 years old on 48 hour shifts. Since then, Stephanie has been working professionally in child care and related fields for the last 12 years. First as a stay-at-home nanny, then a day care teacher, and currently spends her work day as a Assistant Program Coordinator in the Early Head Start field. Before COVID stopped the world in early 2020, Adam was employed as an Assistant Daycare Director connected to a local high school. Stephanie and Adam have treated each child they have cared for as if they were their own.
One of their fondest memories is when Stephanie and Adam were a nanny team for three of the most wonderful children they would ever meet. For about 2 1/2 years, Stephanie and Adam cared for three young children five days a week, 8 hours a day. The time with these adorable kids solidified the feelings of wanting to become parents. Stephanie and Adam spent many nights laying in bed talking about what they would do if they had children of their own. The trips they would take. The schools they would attend. The kind of life they would live. The completion of this fund raiser would help make this a reality.
In early 2023, Stephanie was diagnosed with Stage 0 breast cancer. After two surgeries, doctors were able to remove all cancer tissue and gave her a clean bill of health. However, doctors told Stephanie if she wanted to carry a child, time was running out.
