Stellaluna is a precious part of our family, full of life, love, and personality. But recently, our sweet girl was diagnosed with a life-threatening condition called **FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis)**.

**What is FIP?**

FIP is a rare, but devastating viral disease that affects cats. It is caused by a mutation of the feline coronavirus, which, when mutated, leads to severe inflammation in different parts of the cat’s body. This condition often affects the abdomen, chest cavity, and nervous system, making it extremely dangerous. Despite being diagnosed with FIP, Stellaluna’s doctors are optimistic that with the right treatment, she has a chance to recover.

**Stellaluna’s Fight So Far**

Since her diagnosis, Stellaluna has already been through a lot. She’s had **multiple hospital stays**, requiring round-the-clock care, and has undergone a **blood transfusion** to stabilize her condition. She’s also had **fluid drained from her chest cavity three times**, as the disease caused severe fluid buildup. Through all of this, Stellaluna has remained a fighter, showing us her strength and resilience every single day.

She is now on a **three-month treatment plan** that gives us hope for her recovery. The medication is helping her condition, and we are hopeful that she will make a full recovery. However, her treatment is intensive and costly, and as of now, **her medical bills have already reached over $10,000**—and they continue to climb as we move forward with her care.

We love Stellaluna with all our hearts. She is more than just a pet to us; she’s family. But we are reaching a point where the financial burden is becoming overwhelming.
