Stella is my rescued Pointer Mix dog, soon to be 10 years old. She has been my companion since October 2016, when I first met her at Paws Chicago. Stella was only six months old, afraid and timid after being abused and abandoned in Mississippi. Despite her fear, she was full of love, and I knew instantly that she belonged with me. Over the years, Stella and I have moved through many places together, always finding comfort in each other. We both saved each other, and all I want is to give her the life she deserves.

In November 2025, Stella was playing with a younger dog when she suddenly couldn't move and cried out in pain. Her left back leg was injured, and after a long night waiting for her vet, we hoped it was a minor issue. The vet initially thought anti-inflammatory medication would help, but Stella never fully recovered. She continued to limp and struggled to move, clearly in pain. X-rays revealed severe swelling inside her knee joint, arthritis, chronic ligament instability, and a partial tear. An orthopedic surgeon recommended TPLO surgery to stabilize her knee and give her a chance to regain her mobility.

The funds raised will go directly toward Stella's surgery, follow-up visits, x-rays, medications, and rehabilitation.
