Help Stella the Staffy from a freak eye injury
Donation protected
Hi, this is our beautiful girl Stella. She’s a 3 year old Staffy who’s bubbly personality is infectious and you can’t help but smile watching her go about her business.
Unfortunately on Sunday the 10th of November, Stella was playing outside in the garden when she had managed to get a stick to the eye that caused her serious discomfort. We immediately took her to an emergency after hours vet where we were told the injury was quite sever and resulted in us having to drive between 3 different emergency hospitals just to have her seen by an ophthalmologist.
After seeing the specialist, we were told that Stella had perforated her eyeball and had an ulcer in her eye that was melting her cornea away. The specialists decided that she needed to spend the next 36 hours in intensive care, and eventually went on to have surgery on Tuesday the 12th of November to have a corneal graft to her left eye, which unfortunately has resulted in her vision being impaired in the centre of her eye and only able to see out of her peripheral vision.
This has left us heart broken as she is one of the happiest and friendliest dogs getting around and is our little princess.
This procedure has left us in financial hardship as the medical fees and after care have become expensive and we would appreciate any help we could get to help our little girl make a full recovery and be back to her bubbly self ❤️
