Help Stella Get Surgery For Her Cruciate Ligament

Stella is a 2.5 year old gentle, cuddly dinosaur chicken nugget also known as an American Pitbull Terrier.

I adopted Stella from a local shelter at the beginning of March '21 and have been loving every moment with her! We spend the majority of our time together training, hiking, planting a garden in the backyard then digging it all up three minutes later, napping in the sun, and eating ALL THE SNACKS!

Back in June after a doggy playdate, she started limping and keeping weight off her hind left leg. I brought her to the vet, got some x-rays, and discovered she has partially torn her cruciate ligament, which is similar to the ACL in humans. I've been informed by a couple of different vets that surgery is her best long-term option as she is so young and still has her whole life ahead of her!

I was recommended a specialist with an excellent reputation, who specializes in orthopedic care. The surgery will cost between $7,500-8,500 which includes 1 round of pre-op bloodwork + x-rays, the surgery itself, an epidural + local anesthesia, a harness for her hips so I can help her get around while she's healing, 24hr vet care + stay, post-op rehab, 2 rounds of post-op x rays, as well as medications to reduce pain + infection.

If you don't know Stella, she is truly the funniest, sweetest, most easy-going girl, biggest lover of all humans, large or small. She has the sweetest nature and deserves to romp through forests, meadows, and deserts. I can't imagine her not living her best life, when she's the reason I'm living my best life.
