Hello,

If you know me, you know Stella and on the off chance you don’t, this is Stella. She is my dog and my best friend of 11 years. 

What was supposed to be a routine checkup turned into something serious. During the visit, the vet noticed something concerning, and after further testing we learned that Stella has a tumor on her liver that has already caused internal bleeding.

Since then we’ve been running additional tests to determine if the tumor is cancerous and what type it may be. We are hoping it is not hemangiosarcoma, which could mean Stella may only have weeks to months left.

Right now Stella is still eating, wagging her tail, going on short walks and enjoying being home. We’re managing her care with medications, vet visits, and supplements to help keep the bleeding under control and support her liver while we continue learning more.

Anyone who knows me knows how much she means to me. Stella has been with me through so many chapters of my life and has always been right by my side.

Up until now I have been trying to manage the rising veterinary costs on my own, but they have quickly exceeded what I can handle so I am asking for help.

Stella still has additional blood tests, a laparoscopy, and removal surgery ahead of her, along with ongoing medications and care to keep her comfortable at home.
