Dear Family, Friends and Neighbors of Nate Winstel,

My name is Ann Hill. I have created this GoFundMe to help our dear friends Stella and Ethan as they navigate the sudden and tragic loss of their beloved husband and father.

On the morning of Wednesday May 7th, I came home to our neighbors concerned and talking about another neighbor who had collapsed and been taken to the hospital. At the time, I didn't know who this person was, and never could I have imagined that this would be Nate Winstel, our long time neighbor and my son's friend's father. When I saw that K.J. was the puppy that the man had been walking my heart instantly broke for Stella and Ethan since we knew it was very serious. Stella, Nate and Ethan were a loving, supportive family. Ethan is a beloved only child who is cherished by his parents. To lose Nate has been a devastating loss for his family, the community and those who knew and loved him.

I asked Stella to give some statements on Nate that I could use to write this, and what she wrote was so beautiful that I wanted to share her words:

With deep sadness, I share that my beloved husband, Nate, passed away unexpectedly from cardiac arrest while walking our puppy, K.J., in our neighborhood. Nate was more than just a husband and father - he was a kind, generous, funny and incredibly smart man who brought joy to everyone who knew him. He leaves behind me, his wife Stella, and our 11-year-old son, Ethan.

This loss is unimaginable, and we are heartbroken. Nate grew up in this very neighborhood - it was his home, his roots. He attended Kilbourne High School and later Ohio State University, and he carried a deep love for this community throughout his life.

We're starting this fund to help with funeral expenses and to support Ethan's future education. Any contribution, no matter the size, means the world to us.
