This fundraiser is being created by the family for Stelios mitossis. His wife  Dimitra had been battling ALS for almost 6 years and was eventually put in a long term advanced respiratory facility on a ventilator, a transition that had placed an immense financial burden on the family. While ALS had taken away her ability to eat, talk, move, and breathe on her own, her brain functioning remained fully intact, meaning this young mother was fully aware of the gravity of her situation. Before this change, Stelios was making income through fully caring for his wife, but those funds were removed once Dimitra entered the facility. Having Watched someone you love go through this is incredibly painful, and the family is doing everything they can to stay strong through these hard times. 

 

 Now Stelios is faced with the heartbreaking reality of needing to find a new job following his wife’s passing this past week. This fundraiser is meant to help ease that financial burden and help Stelios transition into his next chapter of life and continue being a great father , grandpa (papou) , and help him get back to comfort as best we can .The support raised will make it possible for Stelios get back on his feet , and focus on his family during this deeply challenging moment in his life, while figuring out his next steps.
